Barefoot Boy, the movie, is a 1938 American children's adventure story.. The film was directed by Karl Brown, It was inspired by the poem of the same name by American writer John Greenleaf Whittier. Kenneth Hale, a pampered, arrogant young child is sent by his papa, John Hale, who has served time in prison for a criminal activity he did not commit, down to the ranch of an old friend, Calvin Whittaker.
